NYSRC is an organization, separate from the NYISO, that establishes rules for maintaining the reliability of the electric power system within New York state ("Reliability Rules")and monitors the compliance of the NYISO and other entities that adhere to those rules.
NYSRC is a not-for-profit entity created to promote and preserve the reliability of the New York state Power System by developing, maintaining, and updating Reliability Rules that the NYISO and all entities engaging in electric transmission, ancillary services, energy and power transactions on the state’s bulk power grid shall comply with. The NYSRC shall not advantage or disadvantage the commercial interests of any Market Participant.
