Karen Antion, President of Karen Antion Consulting, LLC is an Information Technology executive with over twenty years of
experience in the Transportation, State and Local Government and Financial Services Industries. Throughout her career,
Ms. Antion has successfully partnered with industry executives to exploit the power of technology to solve problems and create
business opportunities in an increasingly competitive marketplace. Karen Antion Consulting, LLC specializes in providing
Information Technology Assessments, Business and IT Strategic Planning and Implementation Services, Capital Program Development,
Business Process Reengineering, and IT Organizational Development services for transportation organizations and government agencies.
Ms. Antion has direct experience developing and implementing Business and IT Strategic Plans; developing and implementing regional
transportation programs, including toll and fare collection; constructing and opening rail systems that rely on state-of-the-art
control system technologies; planning and implementing security systems for Port, Aviation, Highway and Transit facilities,
developing and implementing intelligent transportation systems (ITS) for transit, port and highway operators.
Prior to forming her own consulting firm, Ms. Antion served as the senior IT executive in large public and private sector organizations including Oracle Corporation and The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. Her major accomplishments include the implementation of the E-Z Pass electronic toll collection program, the introduction of the Newark International Airport Monorail System, and approval and funding to advance the $1.5 Billion JFK Airtrain system. Ms. Antion has worked closely with elected and appointed government officials on technology based programs which have increased revenues, reduced costs, and improved direct services within their jurisdictions.
Throughout her career, Ms. Antion has served on the Boards of a number of industry associations. Today, she serves as a Director on the Board of Directors of the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) and is Vice-Chair of Research and Technology. Ms. Antion is also an active board member of the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) where she serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors.
