Dear NYISO Stakeholders:
The 2008-2012 Strategic Plan focuses on the roles of the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) in maintaining the reliable operation of the state’s bulk electric grid, sustaining the design, development and oversight of competitive wholesale electricity markets, and continuing enhancement of system and resource planning.
The NYISO will continue to focus on its Excellence in Execution initiative and work to remain an authoritative, unbiased source of information on matters regarding the bulk electricity grid and the state’s electricity markets, according to the Plan.
On behalf of the NYISO Board of Directors and Senior Management, we thank our Market Participants, particularly those serving on the Management, Business Issues and Operating committees for their work in helping the NYISO finalize the plan.
The Strategic Plan outlines the NYISO's Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Guiding Principles for the next five years.
Within these broad goals are the many activities designed to assist the NYISO in accomplishing its Mission. In the plan, we set and maintain high standards as we strive to be A Leader in Reliability, A Leader in Market Design and Performance, the Authoritative Source of Information on Key Issues, an organization that achieves Excellence in Execution, and one that serves all stakeholders by Sustaining and Enhancing Robust Planning Processes.
We look forward to collaborating with all of you as we work to achieve the goals outlined in the Strategic Plan.
Sincerely,
Rana MukerjiVice President, Market Structures
