The coordination of planning between Planning Authorities surrounding the New York Control Area is essential to enhancing the on-going reliability and coordinated operational and economic performance of New York’s bulk power system and the resolution of seams issues with contiguous systems.

ISO/RTO Council: The IRC is comprised of the 10 separate organizations responsible for operating bulk power systems and managing wholesale electricity markets in various regions across both the United States and Canada.
Eastern Interconnection Planning Collaborative: An interconnection-wide collaborative effort to aggregate and coordinate the data in the regional transmission plans of the 23 Planning Authorities serving the United States and Canada from the Great Plains to the Atlantic coast.
Inter-area Planning Stakeholder Advisory Committee: This interregional planning coordination body is comprised of NYISO, ISO-NE and PJM.
