NYISO Registration

As a NYISO customer, an organization has access to different types of data depending on the type of customer it registers as and based on the programs in which it chooses to participate. In order to participate in the NYISO markets/programs by supplying or using any service under the ISO Tariffs, you must register as a direct customer.

To have access to publicly available market information you may register as a NYISO guest . A limited customer is classified as an organization that participates in the EDRP program and as part of the standard registration process, signs only the Market Services Tariff. All customers must complete the appropriate sections in the Registration Packet and any additional forms specific to the NYISO market/program. In addition to the registration packet, an organization must meet appropriate credit requirements and any additional criteria outside of the NYISO.

The NYISO registration package is being revised. Please call the NYISO Customer Support hotline, 518-356-6060, to request the NYISO registration package.

In addition to the NYISO Registration packet, depending on the program you wish to participate in, additional registration forms may be required.

Day Ahead Demand Response
The Day-Ahead Demand Response Program (DADRP) allows demand side resources to bid their load reductions into the Day-Ahead market and be paid for verified performance of the scheduled load reduction. DADRP allows flexible loads to effectively increase the amount of supply in the market, moderating prices.

    Virtual Trading
Virtual Bidding is the submission of bids for the purchase or sale of energy rather than – or in addition to – the delivery or purchase of energy in the NYISO-administered energy markets. Virtual Bidding enables qualified NYISO customers to:
  • Buy energy (virtual load) in the Day-Ahead Market (DAM) and sell it in the Real-Time (RT) Market.
  • Sell energy (Virtual Supply) in the DAM and buy energy to cover the sale in the RT market (Virtual Supply).
