PRESS RELEASE | NYISO Launches New Logo to Reflect Evolving Vision for a Future Grid

January 14, 2020

Rensselaer, NY - The New York ISO today unveiled a new logo that reflects the organizations’ evolving vision while maintaining focus on core responsibilities of delivering electricity reliably and at the least cost possible.

The new logo evokes forward movement and system interconnection, using a schematic representation taken directly from the control room panel used by operators to manage over 11,000 lines of transmission. It also spells out “New York ISO” and “Independent System Operator” to achieve greater clarity, distinction and understanding.

“Markets are at an inflection point and the grid itself is undergoing swift change,” said Rich Dewey, President and CEO of the New York Independent System Operator. “The new logo mirrors that change by projecting a crisp, modern typeface consistent with our newly designed public website. This new logo portrays our vision for the future while paying homage to our twenty-year history.”

The logo redesign is the final stage of a year-long rebranding effort that began in December of 2018 with the launch of the new www.nyiso.com.
