VIDEO: People Who Power New York: “I’m positively affecting peoples’ lives.”

August 30, 2018

Born and raised in Far Rockaway, New York, Arrissa grew up wanting to become a lawyer while studying at the University of Albany.

Fortunately for us, she developed an interest in computers and ultimately shifted majors. Arrissa joined the NYISO IT Department after applying for an internship, but she was offered a full-time job instead. She’s a great example of how the people who power New York approach a challenge and make important contributions.

Meet Arrissa, one of the People Who Power New York.

Visit our careers page for more information on working at the NYISO.

We are an independent, not-for-profit corporation responsible for operating the state’s bulk electricity grid, administering New York’s competitive wholesale electricity markets, conducting comprehensive long-term planning for the state’s electric power system, and advancing the technological infrastructure of the electric system serving the Empire State.
