New York's grid operator is making what amounts to a closing argument to policymakers in its bid to put a price on CO2 emissions from the power sector. In a final report being released today, the New York Independent System Operator says pricing CO2 would boost renewable energy development, encourage switching fossil fuel-based heating and cooling systems to electricity, and spur the expansion of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
