The New York ISO directs the electricity that powers homes, businesses, schools and hospitals; from where it's generation to where you need it.
We provide 24-hour-a-day management of the 11,000 miles of transmission wires in New York State, and we run the wholesale power markets that control how energy is bought and sold in the state. As private, non-profit organization, we provide transparent and independent oversight of the energy grid. We are, in every way, the People Who Power New York.
