Feb. 11, 2020 | In July 2019, New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo signed the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA). This historic act requires the state to meet certain aggressive climate goals for the electricity grid. Those goals include requiring that 70 percent of the electricity consumed in New York State be generated from renewable resources by 2030, and a carbon‐dioxide‐emission‐free electricity system by 2040.
