PRESS RELEASE | NYISO Names Robb Pike as Vice President of Market Operations

September 19, 2019

Rensselaer, NY - The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) is pleased to announce that Robb Pike has been named Vice President of Market Operations.

As Vice President of Market Operations, Mr. Pike will be responsible for the NYISO's Installed Capacity Market Operations, Distributed Resources Operations, and Operations Performance and Analysis departments. He takes over the role from Emilie Nelson, who was promoted to Executive Vice President of the NYISO in May, 2019.

"Over many years of dedicated service, Robb has led numerous critical efforts to successfully integrate innovative market design with the reliable operation of the electric grid. His combined engineering and management skills make Robb perfectly suited to serve as the NYISO's Vice President of Market Operations," said NYISO President and CEO Rich Dewey. “Robb’s selection is a strong example of the NYISO’s focus on succession planning, and how we’re designing our leadership team to address a changing industry.”

Mr. Pike has been employed by the NYISO since its inception in 1999. Prior to the NYISO, he worked for the NYISO’s legacy organization, the New York Power Pool. Mr. Pike was promoted to Vice President from his previous position of Director, Market Design and Product Management, where he successfully led numerous projects to address changes and enhancements in the NYISO’s Capacity, Energy, and Ancillary markets. During his tenure with the NYISO, he also held various roles of increasing responsibility in Planning, Operations, Market Operations and Information Technology.

Mr. Pike earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Clarkson University in Electrical and Computer Engineering, a Master of Science from Clarkson in Electrical Engineering, and a Master of Business Administration from Union College.
